Protractors

Like today, protractors were used to measure angles. These generally came in two varieties, one being the common half circle, and the other being a full circle. However, some rectangular scales also contained degree markings and were used as protractors. Eighteenth century examples are generally brass though rectangular scales with protractors were made of bone or ivory.
