Sep. 6: ARRT program will be the “ Second Battle of the Virginia Capes ” a popular and authoritative presentation given by Dr. Michael Crawford, Director of the US Naval History Center.

Sep. 9: Lecture on “Geostrategic Situation and French Support for the American Colonies” by Peter Onuf,  professor of History at UVA, with the Alliance Française of Charlottesville.

Sep. 9-11: Mount Vernon [a tentative event to commemorate the few days that George Washington and Rochambeau stayed at Mount Vernon on their way to Yorktown is under discussion]

Sep. 23: Lecture on Rochambeau by Nicole Yancey, Honorary Consul of France in Virginia , with the Alliance Française of Charlottesville

Sep. 24 or 25: ceremony in Arlington Cemetery and marker dedication in Arlington County [Kevin Vincent; tentative event to commemorate crossing of the Potomac River by French wagon train]

Sep 29-Oct 1: Wilmington , Delaware [major W3R-USA reenactment and event]

Oct. 4: Arlington , ARRT program on the Siege of Yorktown (September-October 1781). This program will address the special nature of this unique formal siege in the American Revolution and the influence of the unusual presence of heavy artillery in the engagement.  [http://xenophongroup.com/patriot/arrt/arrtprgm.htm]

Oct. 14-15: "Prelude to Victory" at Colonial Williamsburg [The Colonial Williamsburg website says that this reenactment will "represent September 26, 27, and 28, 1781 – the last three days of the period when General Washington and Le Compte de Rochambeau, commander of French forces, were headquartered in Williamsburg prior to the siege at Yorktown." http://www.colonialwilliamsburg.org/visit/eventsAndExhibits/specialEvents/.  Reenactors participating in the Prelude to Victory will be welcome to continue their encampment in Colonial Williamsburg through the conclusions of the Siege of Yorktown reenactments]
